Wine Profile

Vineyard Notes

The Sangiovese emanated from a single small block on a rocky, northwest-facing slope at the Antica Vineyard in the mountainous Atlas Peak district. The stony, alluvial soils keep the vines small and limit the crop, consistently producing fruit with bright acidity and very fresh fruit flavors. With the Merlot grapes for this wine grown on the sustainably farmed Swanson Family Estate in Oakville.

Winemaker Notes

Our 2015 Rosato is aromatically vibrant with aromas of watermelon, field strawberries and early season cherries. On the palate the wine is generous and succulent, displaying fresh red fruits. The naturally crisp acidity of the Sangiovese grape, gives this wine a refreshing finish, making our Rosato a universal aperitif, as well a good pairing wine for sushi, paella, roast chicken and most seafood.

Vintage Notes

The 2015 vintage provided the ideal growing conditions for Sangiovese. Due to cool weather during fruit-set, the vines yielded a light crop of intensely concentrated small berries. A warm summer with very little precipitation meant one of the earliest harvests to date, picking the Sangiovese for our rosato on the 4th of September.
