Shipping Policy

 

All wine orders must be placed by a person 21 years of age or older. Verification of age is required at the time of delivery. We recommend use of a business address to facilitate delivery of your purchase. Wine will not be delivered to a visibly intoxicated person. Failure to produce age verification forfeits the right to receive the shipment until identification is produced. In such circumstances, the order may be held in storage at a local depot of the shipping company until appropriate identification is produced, or it may be shipped back to the winery. All associated costs will be the responsibility of and be charged to the customer.

Orders are processed Monday through Wednesday. Expect orders placed after business hours to take two days for processing. FedEx Overnight orders placed during business hours on Friday will arrive the following Tuesday. Freight is calculated towards the end of the online ordering process. Also, at this time we do not ship online store products outside the United States.

 

DIRECT STATES:

AK, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IA, KS, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NV, NM, NY, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY. These states by law, along with the permits our winery holds, allow us to ship directly to the consumer. Shipping time from day order is placed to consumer delivery is up to 10 business days. 
Orders are shipped Monday through Wednesday.
 

THREE TIER STATES:

AZ, CT, MA, NJ. Please phone to place an order if shipping to these states; details need to be discussed prior to purchase. 


 

NO STATES:

AL, AR, DE, IN, KY, MS, MT, OK, PA, RI, SD, UT, VT, WV. At this time we are unable to ship any wine into these states. Swanson wines are carried by local retailers in many of these states; please ring 707.754.4000.

 

GENERAL WINE SHIPPING INFORMATION:

• Shipments are sent via second-day UPS or FedEx; an adult signature is required for all wine deliveries.
• Must have a physical address; no PO, AP, FPO boxes are allowed.
• Must have phone number or e-mail for contact in case of issue with shipment.
• Wine is best shipped in October through June; because of possible heat damage we prefer not to ship July though September. Please phone us for more details.
• Wine is taxable, based on each state's tax laws and percentages.

 

HOLIDAY ORDERING INFORMATION:

• Wine orders for three-tier states must be placed 25 business days prior to requested delivery date (or holiday) to guarantee fulfillment.
• Wine orders for direct states must be placed 12 business days prior to requested delivery date (or holiday) to guarantee fulfillment.
• Bonbon and caviar orders must be placed 10 business days prior to requested delivery date (or holiday) to guarantee fulfillment.

 

CAVIAR SHIPPING:

• Caviar ships Monday through Wednesday using overnight FedEx to all 50 states.
• Actual time from day order is placed to consumer delivery is up to five business days.
• No signature required.
• Shipped with ice packs to ensure quality and freshness.
• Must have a physical address; no PO, AP, FPO boxes are allowed.
• Must have phone number or e-mail for contact in case of issue with shipment.
• Caviar is non-taxable.

 

CHOCOLATE SHIPPING:

• Shipped Monday through Wednesday using FedEx Overnight or 2-day to all 50 states.
• Actual time from day order is placed to consumer delivery is up to six business days.
• No signature required.
• During warm months, chocolate is shipped with ice packs to ensure quality and prevent melting (we prefer to ship only October through June).
• Must have a physical address; no PO, AP, FPO boxes are allowed.
• Must have phone number or e-mail for contact in case of issue with shipment.
• Chocolates are nontaxable.

 

ALEXIS WINE AND BONBON GIFT BOX:

• Orders allowed online for direct states only; please phone us if you live in a three-tier state.
• Shipped Monday and Tuesday using two-day FedEx.
• Actual time from day order is placed to consumer delivery is up to seven business days.
• Adult signature is required.
• During warm months, bonbons are shipped with ice packs to ensure quality and prevent melting (we prefer to ship only October through June).
• Must have a physical address; no PO, AP, FPO boxes are allowed.
• Must have phone number or e-mail for contact in case of issue with shipment.
• Alexis wine and bonbon gift boxes are taxable, based on each state's tax laws and percentages.

 

CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS:

We will replace any bottle of wine that is damaged, flawed and found to be unsatisfactory. We ask the customer return the unfinished portion of the original bottle for replacement. We will not replace or credit an order until the wine is returned to us. By law, we cannot accept returns of alcoholic beverages unless the product is corked, or flawed.

• Circle the item(s) you are returning on the order form included with your purchase.

• Please write the reason for the return at the bottom of the order receipt.

• If you are exchanging an item, please indicate the item you would like us to send at the bottom of the form. Please be sure to indicate the address where you would like us to send the exchanged item if different from the original address.

• Pack and seal your return item along with the order receipt.

Note: The credit card used for the original purchase will be credited in the amount of the product sale. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your bill. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable unless we have sent the wrong item.

We are also unable to accept the return of wine that is ordered in error. Please send an email to jamison@swansonvineyards.com or call (707) 754-4018 to arrange for the return of your corked or flawed wine.

 

RESTOCKING FEE:

A $45.00 restocking fee will be applied to all cancelled orders.
